Competitive Handbook
This year, we have reintroduced the Competitive Handbook. It will be updated every season to reflect our current policies and procedures and will require your acceptance of it at the time of registration in your Uplifter account. The link below is to a downloadable copy you can keep on hand. Please read it over before you agree to the terms.
2025-2026 Ajax Acro's Gymnastics Club & Durham Gymnastics Academy Competitive Handbook
Withdrawl Policy
Withdrawals from the program must be submitted via email to ajax.acros@on.aibn.com 2 monthly billing cycles in advance. All outstanding fees for the season (competition fees, uniform/costume fees etc.) will be charged to your card on file in full within 1 week of receiving your withdrawal notice, as they are non-refundable.
Attendance & Appropriate Practice Attire
Attending practices on time, in appropriate gymnastics attire is imperative to athlete and coach safety in the gym, and is therefore a nonnegotiable for all competitive athletes.
To better support athlete development, consistency, and competition readiness, we have implemented a new attendance policy beginning this season.
- During the Regular Season (September - June) a minimum of 70% attendance is required.
- In the month leading up to any competition, gymnasts must attend at least 90% of their scheduled practices.
- If an athlete is more than 10 minutes late for their class, they may not enter the gym without their coach's permission.
Athletes are expected to attend class in a body suit (fitted shorts are optional) with hair tied back in a style that will hold for the entire duration of their class. Loose fitting shorts, crop tops, t-shirts, tank tops etc. are not allowed.
Fundraising Initiatives
These events are to be determined, but typically include:
- Gift Card Raffle (Winter)
- Demo Day (May/June)
... and possibly a few more!
Reminder: Fundraising initiatives are mandatory for all Competitive, Pre-Competitive, and Demo families to participate in.
Summer Drop - In Class
During the months of July & August, Demo Team members have the option of attending drop-in classes on Tuesday evenings to work on tumbling, stretching, new tricks, and maintaining skills for the season ahead. These classes are optional and can be booked online through your uplifter account.
Drop Off & Pick Up Policy
All Gymnasts must be accompanied into and out of the gym. Please do not drop your kids off early and leave them in the hallway, or pick them up late and have them wait in the parking lot.
Due to an overwhelming amount of tardiness surrounding drop off and pick ups, we have introduced an Early Drop Off/Late Pick Up Fee of $10 per child for the first 15 minutes, and $1 per additional minute for each minute after.
Competition Attire
In the Fall, all returning athletes will be asked to bring in their competitive attire to ensure it fits according to our standards. If they require a larger size, we will notify you. All new athletes will be sized for competition attire. We will make every effort to arrange the resale of secondhand items. However, this is not always possible, in which case new items will need to be purchased.
